Merino wool is super lightweight, soft, non-itchy, non-clammy, warm in the cold and cool in the heat, and has a miraculous ability to resist odour. Because it was made in the mountains rather than in a petrochemical laboratory. It's naturally renewable, recyclable and biodegradable.
Merino wool corespun wraps Merino fibre around a super-fine nylon core to create lightweight, warm and durable garments for demanding activities. The enhanced strength and durability of the fabric retains the next-to-skin softness, breathability, temperature regulation and odour resistance of Merino wool.
Nature Dye: uses natural substances derived from renewable plants and natural non-toxic mordants to adhere the colour to the fabric. Each product in Icebreaker's Nature Dye collection is garment dyed - is a dye technique where row, undyed fabric is sewn into a finished garment and the finished raw garments are then dyed. Icebreaker's partners at Shanghai Challenge have pioneered a cold-water natural dye technique. This, combined with low water requirements, represents an approximate 40% reduction in energy usage. Care
Like nature, the colour of this garment is imperfect and will fade naturally. Icebreaker recommend a cold machine-wash with like colours before wear and line dry in shade.
Machine wash cold (30°C) on a delicate cycle. Wash with like colours. Do not use softeners. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Line dry in shade. Cool iron. Do not dry clean. Exact instructions on the care label.
